Question: How do I make numbered or bulleted lists?
Answer:
Numbered lists are appropriate when you are listing a set of steps, e.g, "How to do a science experiment." Bulleted lists are appropriate when you have a list of items in no particular order, e.g., "Supplies you'll need in class" or "Teacher's wishlist." We suggest using bulleted lists if you have a Downloads section and/or a Links section on your web page.
Step | Instructions | Example or Picture | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Type the text that you want to use as a list, pressing return/enter between each item. | Even a list of only one item can look nice with a bullet. | |
2 | Highlight the lines that should have numbers or bullets. | Items in the list can be plain text or can be hypertext links. You can change them to links either before or after you give them numbers or bullets. |
|
3 | Click the numbered list icon or bullet list icon in the toolbar. | ||
4 | The text will now have numbers or bullets. | If you change your mind, highlight the lines that have numbers or bullets, then click the icon again to remove the numbers or bullets. |
