Question: How do I use colored text or a colored background?

Answer:

You can set any text in a text element to a text color, give it a background color, or give it any combination of text color and background color. Use of color can highlight sections of your web page, but too much use of color can make the page distracting and hard to read.

To set colors, decide what colors you'd like to make your text and/or the background behind your text, then do the steps in either or both sections below.

StepInstructionsExample or PictureNotes
1 Highlight the text that should be in color. You can highlight words, sentences, or paragraphs.
2 Click the text color icon and click the color you want.

In this example we choose Red text.
A mouseover message tells you the color under the cursor.
3 Click anywhere to turn off the highlight and see how it turned out. If you don't like the color, return to Step 1.
