Question: I got a School Loop error message. What should I do?

Answer:

School Loop sometimes enounters a glitch (a small, temporary, unexplained failure) that produces a cryptic error message, causes a page not to load, or causea page to display garbled information. In most cases these problems are temporary and you can simply back up and try again, using the instructions below.

If an error message or page-load failure shows up repeatedly, however, please let Neil Cuadra or an Assistant Principal know about it. Ideally, we'd like you to copy/paste the error message into an email and let us know what you were doing when the error message appeared. This may help us identify the problem or help School Loop track down what's wrong.

When an error message appears:

StepInstructionsExample or PictureNotes
1 Read the error message in case it's reporting a mistake you made, not a mistake that School Loop made. If it's your error (e.g., trying to upload a file before you specify what file to upload), correct the error. Otherwise, proceed to Step 2.
2 Click your web browser's Back button. You should return to a working School Loop page, but you will probably have to repeat the last action you took, e.g, editing something or uploading a file. If this doesn't solve the problem, proceed to Step 3.
3 Go back to the main Palms website and try to log in again. If it works, you will probably have to repeat the last action you took, e.g, editing something or uploading a file. If you can't get back into your account, proceed to Step 4.
3 Let Neil Cuadra or an Assistant Principal know. If possible, email them the exact text of the error message and tell them what you were doing when the error message appeared. You can try your School Loop account later and it may work again.
